The top brass of the world’s leading AV systems supplier descended on Cairns last week, in a clear message of support for Australia and New Zealand’s emerging profile at the forefront of the global digital networking revolution.

US-based Crestron Electronics sent three of its highest profile executives to the annual CrestronOne Conference: Vice President Randy Klein, International Sales Director Jason Tirado, and Technology Vice President, Fred Bargetzi, making his first visit down under.

The Conference – the third annual bash of Crestron Australia and New Zealand (a division of Hills SVL) saw more than 130 dealers and integrators in a record gathering of the finest audiovisual and automation minds.

The eagerly awaited Crestron Awards saw gongs presented to some of the continent’s finest digital installations, including VisionX’s groundbreaking interactive lecture facilities at the University of Western Sydney, and the spectacular AV overhaul of the Adelaide Entertainment Centre by another former award-winner, Harvey Norman Commercial.

Among those lauded as the continent’s top integrators were the legendary Sydney-based company, Len Wallis Audio, Kiwi ‘super-yacht’ specialists Liquid Automation, and – in a special boon for Cairns – celebrated local newcomer, AVLX Solutions. [A full list of the Crestron Award winners follows.]

The Conference also provided an opportunity for Crestron and Hills SVL managers to explain the phenomenal integration possibilities, operational flexibility, and cost efficiency of the latest solutions offered under Crestron’s “one platform, one total solution” banner.

The presentations ran the gamut of Crestron’s world-leading product offering, from the DigitalMedia system that has revolutionised high-definition content distribution, to the platforms integrating AV, lighting, environment and access controls in today’s ‘intelligent buildings’, to the unprecedented energy savings offered by the latest lighting and climate controls.

Specific presentations also detailed some of the more revolutionary additions to Crestron’s digital line-up, including the groundbreaking ‘audio transport technology’ of its Sonnex multi-room audio systems, and the unprecedented flexibility of its entry-level, multiple-control Prodigy AV home control systems.

“The range and passion of the presentations showed just how fully Crestron has transitioned from a creator of innovative products into the world’s leading supplier of total solution offerings, providing complete control for every facet of our homes, commercial buildings, entertainment and retail spaces,” said Hills SVL and Crestron Australia and New Zealand's General Manager, Stuart Craig.

“The CrestronOne Conference brought together a diverse group of dealers, consultants and technological staff from the commercial and education fields, who all enjoyed learning about Crestron’s powerful but incredibly user-friendly solutions,” Stuart said.

“It was great to have such high-profile members of the US team here to deliver informative presentations and to meet some of the outstanding individuals who are driving innovative developments in our dynamic market.”
