Crestron Digital Media Continues to Set New Standards in The AV Industry

Wow, it’s been over 2 years since Crestron DigitalMedia (DM) was first launched in Australia and New Zealand. Even to this day, it still provides the only complete media distribution solution for all analog and uncompressed High Definition signals. Embedded data such as CEC, HDCP and EDID are of course managed as part of the complete system that only Crestron DM provides.

DigitalMedia 8G+™ provides ultra high-speed communications over long distances without a repeater. Guaranteed transmission distance is 100 metres for 8G STP cabling and 300 metres for 8G+™ Multimode Fibre and includes transport of 1080p 60Hz deep colour and 1080P 24Hz signals. With DigitalMedia 8G+™, the entire uncompressed DigitalMedia signal (Ethernet, HD video, multi channel audio, control and USB HID data) is transmitted over a single fibre or shielded twisted pair cable.

Crestron’s DigitalMedia Range provides a solution for the smallest classroom right through to the largest luxury home or lecture theatre. Our DigitalMedia switching solutions now provide up to a 32x32 matrix with a wide array of transmit, receive and input options to perfectly match your requirement. A new range of pre configured DM solutions providing 7X4, 6X2, 4X1, 6X4 and 6X6 switching plus a new DMMD64X64 matrix are also due for release in the second half of 2011.

Crestron Showcases New Products at CEDIA 2011 – Videos Now Available

The 2011 CEDIA Expo was on at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre last week.

The Crestron stand showcased many new products including Sonnex™ audio distribution, Procise™ high-end surround sound, DigitalMedia™ 8G HD media distribution, 3-Series Control System™, Wireless lighting modules and keypads, expanded Prodigy™ range, and of course some new touchpanels!

The Crestron DigitalMedia display was very popular, featuring the latest hi-def media distribution options over a single 8G copper cable or fibre. The same cable and hardware also carries ethernet, bi-directional control, USB and PoE (over copper) along with the uncompressed HDMI. DigitalMedia technology continues to evolve and expand and has become the chosen hi-def media distribution platform for many of the country’s top residential and commercial integrators.

The popularity of the Crestron DigitalMedia solution was also evident in the capacity attendance at the Crestron training course on Wednesday morning. Other Crestron training classes included Lighting & Energy Management which showcased new retrofit wireless solutions and the expanded Prodigy range, now featuring full Crestron compatibility.

Crestron would also like to congratulate the winners and runners up of the 2011 CEDIA project awards. Crestron featured in 7 of the 11 winning installation categories, more than all other brands combined. We’ll be reviewing some of these impressive installations in future newsletters.
